Where we play

Located in Banff, we offer musical services for locations throughout the Bow Valley. In Banff itself, we have played in many of the popular wedding sites – indoors and outdoors (weather-permitting) – including hotels and churches. We will also travel to locations including the Kananaskis, Canmore, Lake Louise, Emerald Lake Lodge, and Bow Lake (Num-Ti-Jah Lodge). There is a travel fee associated with events located outside of Banff’s townsite. We charge a flat fee of $30 (cdn) plus $0.25/km for the round trip. We make an effort to share transportation, keeping travel fees to a minimum.

Planning an outdoor wedding? I have memorized a selection of traditional wedding music to make it easier for playing outdoors, especially if there is a bit of wind.  My sheet music repertoire is quite extensive and I can also arrange pop music if preferred.

About Ceremonies:

A typical wedding, whether a civil or church ceremony, generally lasts under one hour. You need:

  • one or two selections for the processional;
  • one or two selections during the signing of the register; and
  • a lively fanfare for the recessional, beginning as soon as the bride and groom are presented.

Some ceremonies include additional musical selections. We begin to play approximately 15 minutes prior to the ceremony, as your guests arrive. We arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time to set up. We require that you provide two chairs. If hired for more than one hour, we request a 10 minute break between each hour of playing, up to a maximum of 3 hours.

Rehearsals:
Generally it is not necessary for me to attend rehearsals. If attendance is requested, an extra fee is charged, depending on where the rehearsal takes place, and the length of time needed.

Auditions/Music Selection:

Please contact me if you would like to arrange a meeting. A $50 fee is waived if hired.
